Shirley joined Tyrrells in January 2011 having spent numerous years working for such companies as IBM and Tulip Foods in a marketing capacity, Shirley has ridden since an early age but due to a nomadic upbringing in the Armed Forces, only owned her first horse, an ex flat racer, back in 1996. She now owns a TB x Arab called Harry and is an active member of the Cambridge & District Riding Club as well as volunteering as club treasurer. Shirley lives in Ashwell with her partner Tony, her spinone, Diva, and her two cats. She relaxes by riding Harry and enjoys taking Harry on club holidays or alternatively travelling abroad, specifically trekking having recently summitted Kilimanjaro and Macchu Pichu

Sam qualified at Hartpury College in 2008 then joined Tyrrells Equine to help develop the new on site clinic and hospital into what it is today. Sam is responsible for the care and nursing of all in patients and works closely with the vets to ensure all patients stay is as comfortable as possible. Sam lives in Arlsey with her partner Mark and boisterous hound, Hector, but is soon to depart to have her first baby!

Lucy was surrounded by animals from an early age being raised on a sheep farm in Pirton. She pursued her love of animals having gained her BTEC First Diploma in Equine Nursing whilst working at a veterinary hospital in Kent, before joining Tyrrells Equine in August 2011 for a period of maternity cover. Lucy owns two horses, both TB x called Charlie and Diesel, who she hacks and takes to local shows. Any other spare time she spends helping her father on the farm.

- Lindsay Weight
- Receptionist
Lindsay has a strong background in veterinary employment having worked both as a small animal veterinary assistant and a receptionist, and joined Tyrrells Equine in July 2011 as our head receptionist. Lindsay has owned her own horse in the past and has recently completed a course in Equine Shiatsu. Lindsay is also a keen performer in amateur dramatics and local shows and enjoys singing, mainly jazz and blues (and is available by appointment for weddings and bar mitzvah’s!!)

- Susan Abramson
- Accounts Manager
Susan joined Tyrrells in February 2009. She has a background in accountancy and is responsible for the day to day management of the accounts for the practice. Susan has owned horses and ponies from an early age and currently owns four, including Snoopy, a Shetland pony who she has re-homed through the practice. Susan lives near Saffron Walden with Richard her partner, her two children and three dogs, she enjoys riding, walking the dogs and clay pigeon shooting.
